Since I have officially updated you on where I am, I thought it fair to also update on what I have been doing.

The pandemic shutdowns hit as soon as Derek and I got back from our honeymoon on March 5. We had been experiencing the virus’ start in Europe, but had no idea it would follow us all the way home.

My new supervisor, James, and I were set to meet when I got back to Vegas, but of course, that never happened.

Instead, I started jumping on our weekly Zoom calls to get to know the team and see how the Lord was calling this group of people in the desert state.

To give you a better idea, Nevada has about 10 people on staff in the whole state and only four of us in the Las Vegas area, two for high school and two for college. Georgia has over 100 in the Atlanta area alone, so as you can see, this is a big change, and one that I needed.

Reason being, our staff meetings are state wide on Zoom calls anyways. I know every person who is on staff here on a deeper level than I have in a long time.

We have talked about the struggles of the pandemic on a personal level as well as what it will do for ministry. The honest and real conversations have truly been a Godsend for myself personally through this time.

We also had a 6-week period where we would meet weekly regarding race and other issues facing our country. It was a time to hear from each other’s prospectives, and come together in a way that shows God’s love and purpose for every person created in his image.

On Friday, I will officially get to meet James and the two male staff members we have here in Vegas. I am so excited to finally link arms with the people I have gotten to know over the last four months or so.

Please let me know what you have been up to and how I can be praying for you!
